To teach about the element of color...

This is one book of a series, written by Carolina Martin and illustrated by Julia Garmon.

We’ve created a series of stories using birds to teach about the basic elements of art. In this case, we’ve focused on the element of color, as it relates to primary and secondary colors.

In this book, the birds, “Red”, “Yellow” & “Blue” are the first birds to arrive on the street and to form a neighborhood.

On the color wheel, red, yellow and blue are called the Primary Colors, from which all other colors are made. They are also situated near each another.

In the visual arts, when dealing with paint & pigment, blue and red are mixed to make purple, yellow and blue are mixed to make green, and red and yellow are mixed to make orange.

We created this book to be read to our new family blessing,

Carolina’s Grandson and Julia’s Nephew.

His Mom calls him her “Baby Bird”
